Two Hardcore Maoists surrender before Gadchiroli Police & CRPF

Gadchiroli, Oct 19 : Disillusioned by the hollow claims of Maoism and frustrated by their mindless violence against civilians, a large number of members of the banned CPI (Maoist) are attracted to the Surrender cum Rehabilitation Policy implemented by the Government of Maharashtra since 2005. Thanks to the effective implementation of this Policy, a total of 676 active Maoists till date have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police. Today on 19/10/2024 Two hardcore Maoists viz. Asin Rajaram Kumar @ Anil @ Gagandeep @ Nishant @ Sushant, Area Committee Member (ACM), Press Team (Odisha), Age-37 years, R/o Mandikala, Tah. Narwana, Distt. Jind (Hariyana) and Current R/o Sunni Tah. Sunni, Distt. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) and his wife Anju Sulya Jale @ Soniya @ Janita, Party Member, Press Team (Odisha), Age-28 years, R/o Gurekasa, Tah. Dhanora, Dist. Gadchiroli and Current R/o Sunni Tah. Sunni, Distt. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) have surrendered before Gadchiroli Police and CRPF.

– Asin Rajaram Kumar @ Anil @ Gagandeep @ Nishant @ Sushant

Tenure in Maoist Organization :

• Took keen interest in ‘Baldasta’ during school days, was State Committee member of Jagrut Chatra Morcha and worked for Northern Regional Bureau while he was in Jind (Haryana).
• Recruited in Maad Area Press Team in 2006 and worked as Party Member until 2011.
• Transferred to Company No. 10 from Press Team in 2011 and worked as ACM until 2013.
• Transferred to Press Team (Odisha) from Company No. 10 in 2013 and worked until 2018.
• He had been living undercover in the State of Himachal Pradesh since 2018 to make a living.

Offences Registered :

In 2013, he was involved in an exchange of fire in the forest area of Udatti (Odisha).
In 2014, he was involved in an exchange of fire in the forest area of Odisha.

– Anju Sulya Jale @ Soniya @ Janita

Tenure in Maoist Organization :

• In 2007, she started working as an aide to Commander Dinkar in the Tipagad LOS.
• Transferred to Rahi LOS in 2008 and worked as Party Member until June 2009.
• From 2010 to 2012, she worked as a teacher at the Jantana Sarkar School in village of Ghamandi (CG) in Maad area.
• Transferred to Company No. 10 in 2012 and worked as Party Member until 2013.
• From 2013 to 2018, she was transferred to Odisha, where she worked as a typist of Hindi and Gondi languages in the Press Team.
• She had been living in the State of Himachal Pradesh since 2018 to make a living.

Offences Registered –

In 2012, she was involved in an exchange of fire in the forest area of Laheri (MH).
In 2013, she was involved in an exchange of fire in the forest area of Udatti (Odisha).

Reasons for surrender :

• Due to the lack of any government identity card, he had to face various difficulties.
• Since many Maoists had surrendered or been arrested, there was always a fear that his identity might be revealed, leading to his arrest.
• Constantly hiding his true identity and always lying had become impossible.
• Since Maharashtra’s surrender policy seemed better than that of other States and he had already worked in Armed Formation in Gadchiroli (MH), they decided to surrender in Maharashtra.

Reward on their arrest / encounter:

• Maharashtra Government had announced a reward of06 lakh on Asin Rajaram Kumar @ Anil @ Gagandeep @ Nishant @ Sushant and 02 lakh on Anju Sulya Jale @ Soniya @ Janita.

Reward on surrender:

• After surrender, Asin Rajaram Kumar @ Anil @ Gagandeep @ Nishant @ Sushant will receive 05 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation.
• After surrender, Anju Sulya Jale @ Soniya @ Janita will receive 4.5 Lakhs as reward declared by the Central & Maharashtra Government for rehabilitation.
• State government has announced a reward of 1.5 lakhs as additional assistance to Maoist members who are husband and wife for their surrender. A total reward of 11 Lakhs has declared by the Government.

Due to the intensified anti-Maoist operations conducted by Gadchiroli Police and the golden opportunity provided by the Government of Maharashtra for Maoists to surrender and lead a respectful life, 29 hardcore Maoists have surrendered before the Gadchiroli Police from the year 2022 till date. This action was carried out under the guidance of Sandip Patil, Special Inspector General of Police (ANO) Nagpur, Ankit Goyal, DIG, Gadchiroli Range, Ajay Kumar Sharma, DIG (Ops.) CRPF, Neelotpal, SP Gadchiroli, Sumit Kumar Dy. Commandant of Range field team CRPF. Neelotpal, SP, Gadchiroli, assured that all necessary assistance would be provided to those willing to surrender and join the mainstream society, embracing the ways of democracy. Furthermore, he appealed to active Maoists to renounce the path of violence and adopt the path of peace and join the mainstream of development.
